Pathology Report

Once your pathology report is ready, your surgeon will explain it in detail so that you completely understand the results. If your results are malignant, or cancerous, your surgeon will begin to discuss treatment options with you and what the next step for you will be. If your results are benign, or non-cancerous, a recommendation will be made about scheduling your next imaging studies and whether or not the non-cancerous tumor or lump should be removed.

Our surgeons from the Yale School of Medicine Department of Surgery specialize in treating breast cancer and benign diseases of the breast. It is important to us that you understand your diagnosis and any recommended treatment options, so we take the time to answer all your questions thoroughly. At The Breast Center, we are committed to treating you with compassionate and comprehensive care through every stage of the treatment process.
